Join the Junior Board of The Literacy Council of Central Alabama for the Kickin’ Chicken Wing Fest 2019! Hosted by our friends at Ghost Train Brewing Company, Kickin’ Chicken Wing Fest is a chicken wing cook off benefitting The Literacy Council’s programs – adult literacy, family literacy, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and GED preparation.

Your ticket includes all the tasty chicken wings you can eat, as long as they last, from our competing teams. There will be live music from local bands and a Kid’s Zone so you can bring the youngsters. And of course Ghost Train will be selling their tasty brews.

So be there! Saturday, August 17th, 1 – 5 p.m., Ghost Train Brewing Co.!

How can I help?

All you have to do to help is stop by, eat some wings, have a few beers, and enjoy the weather! We'll have a variety of wings, from fried, to smoked, to baked. We'll have all kinds of flavors and levels of heat. There will be live music from several local bands, too. PLUS it’s a kid-friendly atmosphere with a special Kid’s Zone with activity just for the youngsters!
If you're feeling a bit competitive, register a team and see how your wings stack up! Amateur team registration is $200, professional is $300, and corporate teams are $750. Our friends at Piggly Wiggly are providing you with the first ten pounds of wings, but it's up to you to purchase the rest, your spices, sauces, and materials for cooking.
